In a room, the eye is attracted by vivid or very contrasting colours. A combination of several colours that are shrill and loud will make a room uncomfortable. The colours of your room are competing with each other and this will result in an unsettling environment. In fact, if your eye is too stimulated, this will be tiring and you will feel an impression of discomfort.
Before you start painting a room or changing accessories, identify what you don’t like about your interior decoration. Is it too uniform? Is it lacking character? Once you know what you dislike you will be able to make better decisions and to avoid choosing too many vivid colours that will compete with each other.
